The Story Behind the Bar

The Belden Bar was born out of a simple problem: most weight rooms couldn't effectively load rotational patterns. Coach Joe Belden at Friends University in Kansas identified the gap and created the original concept — a bar specifically designed to train hip rotation, posterior chain strength, and multi-planar movement using a standard landmine setup.

Coach Jerry Shreck at Bucknell University later collaborated to expand and refine the design, bringing performance coaching experience from the collegiate level to push the bar's training applications further. What started as a solution to a specific problem became a purpose-built tool trusted by strength and conditioning coaches who take rotational training seriously.

The Belden Bar is the result of two coaches, two programs, and one shared belief: that rotational strength deserves a dedicated tool.
